Malala Yousafzai was born in Swat valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan in July 1997. She is now 16 years old and is studying in 9th grade. Malala was born in Mingora the capital of Swat valley. Her school is situated in Swat called "Khushal Public School". She was admitted in school in the age of five. She has been a very good student at her school and never failed in exams (Mostly got top grade). Her father Ziauddin owns a chain of schools in Swat valley. (Now Malala and her family is in Birmingham, UK).

Malala Struggles for Children Rights

When Taliban started banning girls from going schools in Swat back in 2009, she was among the girls who were banned from going to school and thus she's educational career  affected at that time. She didn't go to school for many days when military operation was also about to start in the Swat valley back in 2009. At that time, she wrote a diary named "Gul Makai" for the British Broad Casting (BBC) website. She wrote her 15 episodes diary with very interesting end. 

She wrote about the circumstances was going on in Swat valley in her diary. Later on, when peace was restored in Swat region, she appeared on many TV channels and her articles and statements were published by many local and international newspapers.

Except that diary, she also struggled for the peace restoration in Swat as well as she worked with other girls to get all of them back to school. She openly talked about the militants Taliban who were threatening the women in the region and especially they were against women's education. And Malala became a real problem for them for so many years.

In 2011, she was nominated for the international children peace prize by Desmond Tutu. She was didn't receive that prize but it was her honor that she was among the nominated 3 children from around the world who were present over there. Though, she got many national awards and prizes by Pakistani Government and local NGOs for her bravery.

9 October 2012 Malala was attacked

9 October was the darkest day for entire Pakistan and for the entire world. Malala Yousafzai was attempt to assassinate in Mingora Swat when she was coming back from School to home. She was attacked by two gunmen in her school bus when she was on the way to home with other friends. She was fired on the head and the bullet went inside her neck and stuck there. The incident sparked the whole country in minutes and she was first taken to Saido sharif in Swat for urgent treatment, but later on she was shifted to Peshawar and then to Rawalpindi.

She remained unconscious for 10 days, but after 11 days she came out of coma and opened eyes. Now she is in Queen Elizabeth Hospital in the United Kingdom and her doctors says she will get soon. That's the story of Malala Yousafzai. She is now somehow recovered from the critical situation and she has got a new life.
